MODS HANDS-OFF

The moderators of this site have spent much time in discussing how we want to handle member disputes, "flaming," harassment, or other disturbances.

In short, we will not get involved in, or referee, any inter-poster disputes.  We believe the board's community is self-policing enough to allow its members their own latitude on how to handle disputes.  We are not here to steer the direction of any conversation nor are we here to make sure no one's feelings ever get hurt.  We are not here to be anyone's mother, babysitter, or teacher.  We are here to respond quickly to member concerns, questions, and complaints, to protect the community from trolls and excessive harassment (see Terms of Service) or intervention when a mod considers it necessary. 

In short, the mods' philosophy at this site is very hands-off.  As such, you may find threads which you find to be disturbing or bothersome.  If you have a particular thread of concern, especially in support forums, please do not hesitate to contact the moderator of that forum, a global moderator, or the administrator.  That person will then review your concern, possibly discuss it with other moderators, and make a decision on how to handle the situation.  Flaming or harassment is not allowed in any support forum. 

Consistent with the board's "hands-off" philosophy, banning would only occur in spamming or extreme situations.  Less extreme situations are more likely to result in being banished to The Troll Hole.  This banishment may be temporary or permanent.

We do reserve the right to step in if and when any conversation, threads, or posts are directly affecting the majority of users' enjoyment of the board and availability of the board even if the postings are within the guidelines provided above.

Moderators will be fair and impartial in all handling of board concerns.  Our moderators are involved in the community, and thus may have personalities which you may or may not like, but please feel confident that each moderator has the utmost integrity in handling of disputes and will handle them neutrally.

Information about the Modship (Private Moderator Forum)

The moderators of this forum and the admin (herein reffered to as Mods) have a private forum to use to discuss how to implement the troll policy and TOS. The mods will not in any event use that forum for discussing non-troll members, gossip, or anything other than CLL business.
